By the final week, the studying that's going to move your score has mostly already happened. In short: this week isn't for learning anything new - it's for protecting your sleep, doing light targeted review, and arriving on test day in the best possible state to use what you already know.

Stop learning new content

Cramming unfamiliar material this late tends to add anxiety without adding reliable score. If there's a genuine, small gap you want to patch, keep it small and specific, not a last-minute attempt to cover a whole topic you've been avoiding for months.

Do: light, targeted review

Revisit your own notes on your known weak points, and do a smaller number of practice questions rather than full mocks every single day. The goal is staying sharp and confident, not squeezing out one more marginal content gain at the cost of exhaustion.

Protect your sleep, deliberately

This sounds obvious and gets ignored constantly. A well-rested brain performs meaningfully better on a reasoning-heavy exam than an exhausted one, regardless of how many extra hours of last-minute review you traded for that sleep. Treat sleep this week as part of your preparation, not something separate from it.

Handle the logistics early, not the night before

Know exactly where your test center is, what documents you need, and what time you need to arrive, and confirm all of it several days out, not the evening before. Logistics anxiety on top of exam anxiety is an entirely avoidable, unnecessary stack of stress - if you're unsure what the day itself actually looks like, it helps to read through what to expect on IMAT test day beforehand.

Give yourself permission to feel ready enough

Almost every candidate, including the highest scorers, feels underprepared right up to test day. That feeling is close to universal, not a sign that something's actually wrong with your preparation.

The studying is mostly done by this point. This week is about protecting what you've already built, not adding to it under pressure.
